After heavy overnight and early morning rains of over an inch fell, it was amazing that the Chateau Raceway got a program started this week.

It finally felt more like early summer this week at Chateau Raceway with steamy temperatures in the low 90s. Racing resumed with action in all six divisions this week and some new winners added their names to the record books.

On the final circuit, Jason Cummins made a last ditch effort when the leaders came off of turn 4, but Steve Wetzstein edged Cummins by just a couple of feet.

Tim Donlinger took the lead from Jacob Dahle on lap 1 of the USRA RHS Modified feature and never looked back Friday night at the Chateau Raceway.

Jason Krohn stormed away from the field and picked up the USRA RHS Modified win Friday night at the Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Minn.

Racing fans will have to wait one more week to get their fix. The 2011 season opener at the Chateau Raceway was postponed for the second week in a row.

The 2011 racing season at the Chateau Raceway will start on Saturday, April 9, with an open practice for any racer who would like to test. It will also be a preview of what fans will get to see in action on Friday nights this summer at the Chateau Raceway.

It felt more like hockey weather than stock car racing this Saturday at Chateau Raceway. Nonetheless, 75 race teams and a group of diehard fans took advantage of the final show of the season at the speedway dubbed the “Buzz Fest.”

Josh Mattick led at the start, but Todd Scharkey was not to be denied this week at the Chateau Raceway. Scharkey lost a heartbreaker on the final corner last week, but he shot to the lead to complete lap 1 Friday night.

For a while it looked like Todd Scharkey would dominate the USRA RHS Modified feauture, but Jason Cummins got the drive off of turn four and edged Scharkey by a door to win his fifth feature and third in a row.
